Parting Words From The WORD…

I’ve noticed some recurring themes in my conversations the past few years. “Busy…chaos…CRAZY busy…overwhelmed…hectic…” These words aren’t just coming from my lips, but they’re coming from yours as well.

After yesterday’s post by Tammy Whitehurst, my heart and mind have been acutely tuned to the frequency with which we writers and speakers describe our busyness. And it’s not a pretty picture. After all, it’s the busyness that produces the sense of being overwhelmed and in chaos.

Today, as I write this, I hear the Lord asking, “Vonda, are you busy or are you biding? Are you too busy to bide with me and hear my voice? Are you too busy to rest in me?”

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

Chaos and stress are in the busyness and rush. Rest and refreshing are in the waiting and biding.

What will we choose today?

I pray God’s blessing on the work of your hands and your hearts,

Vonda
