Parting Words From The WORD…

My words echo in the silence between us. I did it again.

Words spoken without thought, without filtering, caught up in the fun or excitement or frustration or joy of the moment. Powerful words that change the very air we breathe and erect impassable walls of stone.

Am I the only one?

Oh, how often I’ve prayed for reconciliation, too late to prevent the damage. If only I had been like David.

Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips. Psalm 141:3

That is my prayer today. That God will set a guard over my mouth, place a filter between my mind and my lips, and help me test the words before I say them. Are they really of You, Lord?

My prayer is that my words would be His words today and always.

I pray God’s blessing on the work of your hands and your hearts,

Vonda
