Writer’s Headlines: Kudos, MoGo7000 Results, & Christian Communicators Conference

It’s the 2nd Thursday, and time to celebrate your successes!

Congratulations to all these Christian Writer’s Den writers. You’re doing what it takes!

1.  Linda Thomas (IN): Recently published my first Bible Study, In Step with the Spirit.

2.  Colleen Luntzel (OR): Colleen has a new blog, Bring Bread. In Isaiah 29:8, the Scripture says, “…an hungry man dreams, and behold, he eats; but he awakes, and his soul is empty.” Hunger is powerful and demands to be satisfied, whether it’s physical or spiritual. It’s easy to satisfy physical hunger, but when it’s the soul that knots tight in hunger pangs, only The BREAD of Life, Jesus Christ, can satisfy.

The Bring BREAD Blog is for those who spiritually hunger and thirst–whether your soul-hunger has been satisfied in Christ or you’re still starving for eternal soul-satisfaction. Bring BREAD is a blog-buffet where encouragement, hope, help and love are dished out. Join us and be challenged, blessed and filled! FB Page:

3.  Nan Jones (NC): I’m featured in a regional magazine this month! All About Women has an article about my book contract and ministry! Here’s the link:

4.  Sandy Quandt (TX): Sparkle Magazine published my story, “God’s Handiwork” in its March issue. The beginning of the story can be read online at

5.  Cheryl Barker (KS): My article “A Surprise from God” appeared in the Winter 2013 issue of The Lutheran Digest.

6.  Beth Fortune (SC): Devotion accepted by The Upper Room for their Mar/Apr. 2014 edition.

7.  Sherry Carter (TX): I started a new blog, Sherry’s Light Blog, a couple weeks ago. I love it! Not many subscribers yet but I’m patient – sort of.

8.  Susan M. Baganz (WI): Through an unexpected turn of events I accepted a position as Acquisitions Editor with Prism Book Group! It’s a small Christian press and I’m looking for authors who write romance, romance, romance: contemporary, historical (especially Regency), Western, Comedy or Romantic Suspense. (no Amish, please?). They should fit our Diamond or Inspired lines. Give me a creative happy ending and I’ll be tickled raspberry. Submissions can be sent to sbaganz (at) prismbookgroup (dot) com.

9.  Susan Stilwell (VA): My article, “When They Don’t Want You” is in Proverbs 31 Woman (print mag) this month (April).

Congratulations, writers! You’re working hard…and it shows.

And if you want to find more outlets for your work, be sure to check back next week for a list of writing opportunities chosen just for you!

Who Hit Their MoGo7000 Goal in March?

We have one lonely MoGo7000 achiever this month. March must have been a busy month of other stuff for a lot of people. Believe me, I know how that is!

But our one goal-reacher this month is…

#8. Eddie Snipes – 27,558 words

27,558 words, Eddie? Wow! Way to go! That’s ANOTHER entry in the ol’ hat for you! Maybe this will be your year to win $100. :-)

And readers, if you’re working on a book project, you can take part in MoGo7000 at any time. Check out the MoGo7000 guidelines here. It’s free!

Gideon Interns 2011

Do You Know 16-18yo Teens Talented in the Media Arts?

The Gideon Media Arts Conference and Film Festival is just what they’re looking for!

Sarah Anne Sumpolec and I are co-directors of the Teen Intern program at the Gideon (to be held in Orlando this year!) and we’re looking for talented teens who are interested in a career in the media arts from a Christian worldview. But the deadline for application is fast approaching!

We’re specifically targeting teens who are interested in acting, screenwriting, directing, producing, radio, TV, songwriting, singing, or any other area of media arts. Even though this conference is for adults, selected teens will be able to take classes, learn from professionals, and network with others already in the industry. Opportunities abound at The Gideon!

To learn more about the Gideon and about the Teen Intern program, please visit the website at or contact me. I’d love to see them–and you–there!

Grace and peace,

Vonda
