If you’re serious about writing and speaking, you’ll be serious about attending

When I first started this writing journey, I didn’t have money for conferences, so I asked my family and friends to contribute to my conference fund rather than giving me gifts for Christmas, birthday, Valentine’s Day, anniversary, and Mother’s Day. That went a long way towards my conferences. You might want to try it, too.

Here’s a list of upcoming writing and/or speaking conferences. Make your plans now to attend at least one conference a year. You wouldn’t expect to get a job without being prepared and qualified, would you? You can be sure your chances of publication increase with your training and experience in writing as well.

  • Thanks for listing the Mid-South Christian Writers Conference, Vonda. We had so much fun with you as our keynote in 2015. This year we’re welcoming Edie Melson. Thanks again!

    • Thank YOU, Johnnie! I loved being there with all of you, and I know Edie is going to be awesome!

  • Ruth Allender

Thank you, Vonda, for being a source of wisdom and practical help! The sharing of knowledge and opportunity is a great testimony of faith. Hugs from Colorado. Ruth

    • Hello Ruth. Thanks for stopping by and for your kind words. The Christian writers community is often a good example of how brothers and sisters should treat each other. 🙂 Hope you’ll join in again soon!

      • Ruth Allender

Your words of encouragement at the Ghost Ranch Conference in New Mexico have stayed with me and helped me persevere through rough patches and years. My last name is different now, but I remember your kind words all the same!

        • Oh, thank you for sharing that with me! I’m thrilled to hear that something I said or did has been an encouragement to you. As hard as it is to persevere in this rejection-prone industry, I’m honored that your memories of the Ghost Ranch have inspired you! Made my day!

  • Nan Jones

You’re so faithful. Thank you sweet friend 🙂

    • And you are faithful to do what you’re called to do, too! So thankful to have you in my life!

      • Rene` Diane Aube

Yes, I did, as a matter of fact! Now to my mind and pencil to work. 🙂

  • Kristi Woods

Thank you, Vonda, for continually offering encouragement and direction. Your emails scream “Open me!” I do just that and walk away an encouraged and better writer. 😉

    • Hahaha! That’s the first time I’ve been told my emails scream! I love that picture. Thank you! Glad you feel encouraged when you do. 🙂

  • Lots of opportunities! Thanks for sharing, Vonda. 🙂

    • You’re very welcome, Cathy. I hope you find something good!
