Parting Words From THE WORD…Starting Again

How do you feel as we end this first half of January 2015? Did you accomplish what you had hoped? Maybe you’re like me and you can see progress, but also see the things that didn’t get done.

So what do we do now? As for me, I think I’ll simply toss anything that whispers of failure and rest in Him and His great mercy.

And then trust His plan for my life…again.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

I pray God’s blessing on the work of your hands and your hearts,

It’s always interesting how The Lord reassures us by telling us something and reminding us in various ways. These verses came up recently while I am waiting on Him for direction in answer to a specific prayer.
In the meantime, I haven’t made much progress – there is far more not done than accomplished – but I posted on my wall this quote I read somewhere: “Someday I may give up, today is not that day.”
    Blessings to you.

    • I’m right there with you , Lynn. Far more that I HAVEN’T accomplished than what I have accomplished. I’m not even looking at the list now, just trying to keep my head above water by working by deadline. But what needs to get done will get done…eventually. 🙂

You are so precious. I’m learning that we make plans, but God has a purpose. Maybe His purpose for this time in our lives is to learn to abide in Him, resting fully satisfied with Him alone. I feel so driven sometimes, and I know that is not from Him. It’s hard to let go, isn’t it? I love you Lady V. Your life honors the Lord. Please don’t ever forget that 🙂

    • You are such an encourager, Nan! Thank you for the reminder that His timing is perfect!

Thanks for your words of encouragement Vonda. Right words fitly spoken! My words for the year are trust and obey. So I’m trusting Him to make my pathway straight and I want to walk that path with an obedient heart as He gives grace and strength for each day and each thing he calls me to. And when things don’t get done on my schedule, like you I want to toss anything that whispers of failure and rest in Him and His great mercy. Julie was right, you said so much in a few words. Vonda, I am so thankful for you. More than once the Lord has used you to lift me up. Blessings to you!

    • Thank you for your encouraging words, Glenda. I’m happy to see the reminder helped others besides me. I needed it more than any one! Happy, healthy 2015 for you and yours!

  • You said so much in such few words. Thank you. xoxo Pure Gold.

    • Thank you, Julie! Your words and your stories are always encouraging to me to stay the course, even when things don’t go as planned…which is quite often, isn’t it? 🙂
